Some light in the midst of a societal fog also political action anyone???

well well well …here we are in the beginning of August in America, in Washington…. I don’t know what to say this year ? so it goes and well it goes a way none of us knows. to be precise. I have been having some good experiences amongst the isolation and was happy to have had so many far away friends list last year and hope son some may come again. unkown unknowns. I had a great opportunity in spring with the organization ArtistsUp who provide scholarship opportunities for artists to receive mentorship via mentorly Amazing I had a brilliant experience with my two mentors and now feel a lot firmer in pathways of pursuit. Thank you to : Minh Carrico and Humaira Abid for helping me see things from different perspectives as well as inspiring next steps. It hasn’t been familiar since college to spend time speaking with someone detached from me and it was a really great start to a non starter of a spring. Since then I have been applying and applying and making and thinking and crying quite a lot but in a cleansing way vs a deeper sadness. So much…

Been doing a lot of distance political organizing, assisting in a variety of ways from text banking to letter writing, postcard writing, phone banking and I made the big decision to adopt. I’ve adopted a swing state! I adopted North Carolina and you should too !!! head over to Crooked Medias Adopt a state program and sign up now!!! We need you and you and you and you….all ya!

A weekend of Cemetery

I realized this weekend after visiting two cemeteries that I live in a spot that within 5-10 minutes I could go to six different cemeteries!? This one in Olalla is one of my favorites! Next to the former Linda Hazard House, what you say you don’t know who Linda Hazzard is? well check her out!! here’s another article in the Smithsonian. So once you know who she is this cemetery may seem …something more? then again maybe you have no interest in cemeteries. I can’t explain where my life long passion for them has come from, but I have always felt comfortable in them and when I first began shooting film at the age of fifteen the cemetery was the first place I went with some close up lenses and an appreciation of what the Victorians would have considered a place to spend time in, not just visit the dead but to recreate. The top three images are connected a tree has taken out a few grave stones and it’s hard to tell how many as the stone actually obliterated.
